NATHAN'S KINGDOM - POST PRODUCTION Nathan’s Kingdom is an imaginative coming of age drama about Laura, a 19-year-old outcast, who will not surrender Nathan, her 25-year-old autistic brother, to social services. She takes him on an impossible quest to find a fictitious kingdom that only exists in Nathan’s imagination, but proves to be so real, it changes their lives forever.
To cope with the hardships of a broken home, Laura spent her younger years hiding her emotions and playing with her self appointed best friend, Nathan. Together, they invent a fictitious safe haven called “The Kingdom” and promise each other to one day find it. Ten years go by and adulthood sets in. Laura takes Nathan with her to live in Los Angeles while she works as a professional actress, but things don’t go as planned. Nathan demands that they go find his kingdom and retaliates against her when she does not keep her childhood promise. Laura fails at her career and ultimately loses all hope in herself. With no money, no place to live, and nothing to lose, Laura decides to take Nathan on a road trip to find his kingdom.

Florence reluctantly takes a job as a guitar teacher at a homeless drop-in center for youth where she meets Chris, Shard, and Jamal, three rambunctious homeless teens who remind her so much of herself. As much trouble as they give her, she can’t help but form a connection with them. The center is abruptly shut down due to lack of funding. The center closes and classes are canceled. Several of the homeless youth are picked up by their social workers, some return to juvenile hall, while others escape and go A.W.O.L. Chris, Shard and Jamal make a break for the streets and run away.
Florence finds herself without a job and disappointed with life once again. She roams the streets and fate allows her to bump into the boys once again. She takes them in and shelters them until she is evicted from her apartment. The tables turn and the boys try to teach her how to survive the streets. When things escalate, Florence realizes she can’t care for them any longer. She is faced with the dilemma of turning the boys in so they can be better cared for. www.BetweentheMiles.com
